Yorktown Huskers – Mission Statement

The mission of the Huskers Club is to enrich and enhance the experiencing of student athletes and promote positive parent and community involvement in support of the Yorktown Huskers athletic program. The club works with the school Administration, Staff, Coaches, Students and Community to identify and address specific needs such as building morale, boosting event attendance, providing financial assistance and helping to create and enjoyable environment for our students. The Husker Club is responsible for raising funds required to meet our objectives.
 

• Students and interscholastic athletic programs are supported by the club's fundraising efforts. Money raised allows the club to support the athletic department with purchases that enhance the current programs.  Some of the past purchases have included:
  • wrestling mats,
  • football sleds,
• • weight room equipment,
  • video and editing equipment,
  • ice machines,
  • team recognition banners,
  • scoring table
  • sound equipment
  • mats for the track team
  • ultra sound machine for the trainer
• The Club also helps to sponsor the YHS senior Athletes Awards Dinner where senior student-athletes receive awards and handed out over $6,000.00 in scholarships.
• The Husker Club meets at 7:30 pm on the second Tuesday of the month in the high school library.
• Membership dues are $50 per family per year or $150 for a lifetime membership.
